WELCOME
to our Chinese
astrological page. Before we start to find out
who is your ideal partner is,
we thought you might
like to know that according to Chinese
astrology, it is believed that a person takes on
the characteristics of the animal in whose year
they are born. So, do you still think you have
found your love of your life?
In 104BC the length of a year was determined by
the Chinese to an accuracy of 365.2502 days. By
480AD, Ju Chongzhi refined it to 365.2428 days,
or 52 seconds, more than the modern value of
365.2422 days. So in 2,000 years the total
discrepancy is less than one day in the Chinese
Lunar Calendar! Sadly as you might have guest
the Western Calendar is not as accurate, so it
does makes you think, do they know something we
don't know? SO TAKE NOTE!
Legend has it that the Lord Buddha summoned all
the animals to come to him before he departed
from Earth.
Only twelve of the animals came to
bid him farewell, so Buddha honoured each of
them with a year.
The Chinese
Lunar Calendar dates back to 2637BC.
Every complete Chinese astrological cycle passes
through each of the twelve signs five times,
each of which has one 'golden' year. The entire
cycle therefore takes 60 years.
The order of the signs was taken from the
sequence in which the animals appeared to
Buddha.
The first
of the animals was the Rat, then the Ox, then
the Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon,
Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and
lastly came the Pig.

Be warned though
that when using our system you must take not
that if your partners birthday or your birthday
is at the end of January beginning of February,
so remember to check what year you, or your
partner to be, falls in to on the Chinese Lunar
Calendar. For example, if you where born after
29 January 2006, on the Weston Calendar, then
your Chinese Birth Year would be 4703
respectively up to 18 February 2007! |
