Improving
the Quality Of Life in Sefton

SEFTON
MBC Leisure Services Department Coast and Countryside
Service is the official department that manages Sefton's
coastline and parks. The service runs the
Sefton Coastal and Park Ranger Services, as well as the
coastal Lifeguards. As part of it's day to
day running, the department runs all types of events for
the public and the education system. The
events cover any think from environmental issues, tree
planting, bird watching, to nature walks and talks to

The
department is also responsible for the up keep and
running of the councils parks and Sefton's nature
reserves.

Sefton
Ranger Service works in close partnership with the other
Nature Reserves run by other groups like the National
Trust and English Nature producing environmental
studies, conducting joint environmental projects and
also helping to increase access for locals and
tourists. The partnership program is called
the Sefton Coastal Partnership and it includes not only
the land owners, but other groups like North West Water,
with the aim to improve the Sefton coastline for the
wildlife, locals and the tourist industry.
The Service
produces a magazine that can be subscribed to by
emailing coastlines@seftoncoast.org.uk.
It is full of interesting information about current
projects and future plans as well as fascinating
historical information. This is well worth subscribing
to.
